Auch wenn der Stürmer in den letzten Monaten ein eher tristes Dasein bei Juventus Turin führte, ist seine Gesamtbilanz so schlecht nicht zu lesen. In 291 Partien erzielte er 85 Tore und bereitete 39 vor – er war somit an insgesamt 124 Treffern beteiligt – keine überragende, aber eine akzeptable Bilanz, die beweist, dass er, trotz vieler Ego-Touren, auch ein Mannschaftsspieler sein kann. Am wohlsten fühlt er sich scheinbar im Nationaltrikot: In 51 Länderspielen erzielte er 21 Treffer und legte 8 auf.
Die Statistik spricht somit nicht gegen den Dänen. Aber kann er seinen Lebensstil in Frankfurt ändern? Einer Stadt, die mit Nacht-Klubs, wie dem Living, dem Kingka oder anderen luxuriösen Gaststätten bestückt ist? Und vor allem – kann sich Bendtner, der, folgt man seinen Beiträgen im Internet, sehr viel von sich hält, wirklich voll auf die Aufgabe Eintracht Frankfurt einlassen und sich mit dem Verein und dem Umfeld identifizieren?
Ein Fall für Veh! Sollte die Verpflichtung, entgegen aller Zweifel Bruchhagens, wirklich gelingen, so könnte dies ein Bombentransfer für die Hessen werden. Der Stürmer hat, trotz aller Eskapaden und einer schwachen Saison, noch immer einen Marktwert von 5,5 Mio € (Quelle: Transfermarkt.de). Mit den Gunners besteht, folgt man den Medien der letzten Tage, bereits Einigkeit. Nun fehlt noch die Zusage des Dänen. Kann Stürmer auf Geld verzichten und sich auf seine letzte Chance mit jetzt 25 Jahren einlassen? Eine weitere verkorkste Saison wäre wohl der endgültige Karriereknick für eines der größten Versprechen der Neuzeit!
